Both sizes are the same width and hold up to 7.7 lbs. What changes is length and depth — so measure your pet nose to base of tail rather than going by weight alone.

Small — 16.5" x 8.7" x 9.1": fits a pet up to about 14" nose to tail. Right for cats and very small breeds — Chihuahua, Yorkie, Toy Poodle, Pomeranian — who tend to curl up rather than stretch out.

Large — 18.5" x 8.7" x 10": two extra inches of length and an inch more depth, for a pet up to about 16" nose to tail. Choose this one for longer-bodied breeds like a Dachshund or Shih Tzu, or for a pet who prefers to lie out flat. The deeper walls also sit higher around them on longer drives.

Measure your console before ordering. Both sizes are 8.7" wide and rest on top of the center console or armrest — a flat, stable surface gives the best fit. If you are between sizes, size up.
